INCIDENT REPORT
SEIZURE OF 1746.580 gram of  YELLOW METAL (GOLD) BY COOCH BEHAR CUSTOMS
PREVENTIVE UNIT OF SILIGURI COMMISSIONERATE.

On the basis of specific information the officers of Cooch Behar Customs Preventive
Unit, Siliguri Commissionerate on 02.02.2012 effected seizure of 1746.580 gms of Yellow Metal
(Gold) from  a  Tata Indica Car bearing Registration No. WB-74/5809. Two Occupants
(including the driver) of the carrier vehicle who were present in the vehicle  at the time of
interception were arrested under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962.
Value of the seized goods is as below.

1. Value of the seized  Yellow  Metal (Gold)  Rs. 49,77,753.00 (Rupees Forty
Nine Lakh, Seventy Seven Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Three).
2. Value of the seized carrier vehicle Rs. 1,00,000.00 (Rupees One Lakh).
Collective seizure value  Rs. 50,77,753.00 (Rupees Fifty Lakh, Seventy Seven
Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Three) only.
Follow up action of the case is under progress.
