Govt sources: PM seeks GST integration in budget

The Prime Minister has written to the Finance Minister asking for the goods and service tax (GST) integration in the budget, reports. It is learnt that the PM has asked the Finance Ministry to integrate service tax and central excise. The PM has sought for trimming exemption in central excise list. Presently, excise threshold is Rs 1.5 crore. However, the GST committee has proposed a lower Rs10 lakh threshold. The PM has also asked for a report on action taken on the measures.
