Direct tax collection may meet target of Rs 4.3 lakh for fiscal year 11

The FY11 direct tax collections may just meet budget estimates, reports. The direct tax collection was estimate at Rs 4.3 lakh for this fiscal year. The department of economic affairs and the revenue department discussed hiking the target. While the department of economic affairs what to up the collection target to Rs 4.7 lakh, the revenue department is not too keen on revising the budget estimate. Reports also suggest that the corporate tax collections could meet the budget target.
