Goods and Services tax (GST) return: File your return for December by tomorrow or face penalty | Here are five easy steps to do it

GSTR-3B return:  The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs has issued an alert for GST Taxpayers, whose aggregate annual turnover is more than Rs 5 crore during the Financial Year 2019-20.

GSTR-3B return:  The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs has issued an alert for GST Taxpayers, whose aggregate annual turnover is more than Rs 5 crore during the Financial Year 2019-20. The CBIC has asked all those taxpayers to pay their taxes on time to avoid penalty. It said late filing of GSTR-3B return will attract late fee and interest. Last date to file GSTR-3B return for December 2020 is January 20.

The message by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs was also retweeted by the Ministry of Finance.

Reminding the last date of filing GSTR-3B Return, the post that was retweeted by the Ministry of Finance read, " Attention GST Taxpayers whose Aggregate Annual Turnover is more than Rs. 5 crores during FY 2019-20! Remember to file your monthly GSTR-3B Return for December, 2020 on or before January 20, 2021."

Those who haven't filed their GSTR-3B Return for December, here we will guide you through some steps to help you file your return.  

How to file GSTR-3B Return:
Step 1: Login to www.gst.gov.in  
Step 2: Go to the services section of the portal
Step 3: In the dropdown, click on returns
Step4: From returns dashboard, select the correct financial year and return filing period
Step 5: Look for the file that says "Monthly return GSTR-3B" and select 'prepare online.' You are good to go for filing the return.
