Transition Scheme for Registrants of Certificate Course on International Taxation who are Interested in Pursuing Post Qualification Diploma in International Taxation
January, 02nd 2018
                                         ANNOUNCEMENT

TRANSITION SCHEME FOR REGISTRANTS OF CERTIFICATE COURSE ON
INTERNATIONAL TAXATION WHO ARE INTERESTED IN PURSUING POST
QUALIFICATION DIPLOMA IN INTERNATIONAL TAXATION

To help our members to build capacities in the area of international taxation, ICAI through its
dedicated Committee on International Taxation was conducting a certificate course on International
Taxation for its members. After successfully organizing certificate course for numerous years, the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, with the approval of Ministry of Corporate Affairs,
brought out a Post Qualification Diploma in International Taxation for its members in the year
2016.

On commencement of Diploma course, the Certificate course on International Taxation was
discontinued. Requests were received from registrants of Certificate course to bring out a scheme
for them so that they can pursue the Diploma course.

Since the course content of the Diploma Course is wider than the Certificate Course, a transition
scheme for the registrants of Certificate course on International Taxation was worked out by the
Committee on International Taxation of ICAI. The details of the same are given below:

      A.        APPLICABILITY

I. This scheme is applicable for the members who had enrolled themselves for certificate
           course in International Taxation AND

           a) have SUCCESSFULLY CLEARED the Certificate course in International taxation;

              OR;

           b) have not cleared/ attempted the Assessment Test of the certificate course but have
              ATTENDED MORE THAN 50% of TRAINING SESSIONS.

II. This Scheme is applicable only for a period of two years from the date of this
           Announcement.

NOTE: Members who had enrolled themselves but have not completed even 50% of their
training sessions and are now interested in pursuing Diploma should undergo the entire
training sessions at the fees charged from fresh candidates. In other words, they have to
register afresh for the Post Qualification Diploma in International Taxation, as and when
organised, at the location suitable to them. The details thereof can be downloaded from the link
https://www.icai.org/new_post.html?post_id=13126.
