Ullas Kamath, Deputy Managing Director of FMCG major Jyothy Laboratories, was conferred with the CA Business Achiever Award in the SME segment at ICAI 2008 awards organized by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The awards are instituted to recognize and honour the achievements of fellow Chartered Accountants in professional, personal and community services. This is the 2nd year of the awards function.

The 45-year old Mr. Kamath joined Jyothy Laboratories 17 years ago and has been the main driving force in transforming Jyothy from a proprietary concern to a multi-brand FMCG corporate with key brands like Ujala, Maxo, Exo and Jeeva.

In 2008, Jyothy Laboratories diversified into services sector with the launch of its new venture called Fabric Spa. The service is introduced with the objective to provide world-class laundry service at affordable prices at your doorstep.

Under his leadership, JLL has been a debt-free company for the last 15-years and Mr. Kamath has been credited with the success of JLLs IPO offering in the year 2007.

Mr. Kamath has also helped in creating direct employment to the needy in rural areas over 2,000 in manufacturing and 1,500 in sales force and set up projects in backward areas like Mehboob Nagar (AP), Bishnupur (WB), Guwahati (Assam), Jammu, Roorkee (Uttrakhand), Silvassa (Dadra & Nager Haveli), Wayanad (Kerala).
