NOTIFICATION No. 49/2013-CUSTOMS

 

New Delhi, dated the   29th November, 2013

 

 G.S.R. 762 (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts goods of the description specified in the Table below and falling within the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India, from the whole of the duty of customsleviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule and from the whole of the additional duty leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Customs Tariff Act,1975 subject to the condition that the importer produces, at the time of clearance of the said goods, before the jurisdictional Assistant or Deputy Commissioner of Customs, as the case may be, a certificate from an officer not below the rank of Deputy Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to the effect that the said goods are required for the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme funded by the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

 

Explanation – Nothing contained in this notification shall have effect on or after the 1st day of October, 2015.
