Supplementary budget tabled
December, 04th 2010

Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi on Friday tabled the second supplementary  budget for the current fiscal in the state assembly after governor Devanand Konwar's address to the joint session of the state's legislatures. The supplementary budget is worth Rs 2,950.15 crore.

As per the details, the budget also incorporates Rs 622.82 crore that the government had been given as advance from the state's Contingency Fund. Its reimbursement to this Fund has also been included in it.

The budget includes proposed investment of Rs 2,593 crore in non-plan activities, Rs 322.31 crore under state plan, Rs 29.62 crore in Centrally-sponsored schemes and Rs 2.75 crore in Central schemes.

The House was adjourned to meet again on Monday after making obituary reference to eight former MLAs who had died in the intervening period. The MLAs whom the House mourned include Jagbandhu Adhikari (Katihar), Hari Kishore Prasad (Basantpur), Sanjay Singh (Sheikhpura), Krishna Devi (Bahera South), Jagdish Narayan Singh (Mokama), Ram Naresh Ram (Sahar) and Thomas Hansda (Barhait, Jharkhand).
