Manipur government notified hike VAT rate
December, 18th 2010

The Value Added Tax (VAT) rate of Manipur government has been increased by one percent.

Government issued a notification regarding the increased on Friday.

The notification was issued by the Manipur Finance Department a day after a cabinet meeting of the SPF government under the chair of the Chief Minister, O Ibobi approved to the proposal of the finance department.

The government notification amended the schedule I of the Manipur Value Added Tax Act, 2004 and increased the VAT rate from 4 percent to 5 percent and 12.5 percent to 13.5 percent on the categories of items as prescribed in the Schedule I .
