India Apr-Nov direct tax receipts up 22.2 pct - govt

India's direct tax receipts during April to November period rose 22.2 percent from a year earlier to 1.77 trillion rupees, the finance ministry said in a statement on Friday.
Corporate tax receipts were up by 26.8 percent at 1.1 trillion rupees in the first eight months of 2008/09 fiscal year, while income tax collections grew by 15.3 percent to 672.15 billion rupees, it said.
Direct tax collections have already reached 48.56 percent of the budget estimate of 3.65 trillion rupees for 2008/09, it added.
