GST annual return forms for FY18 notified

Finance ministry has notified annual tax return forms for businesses registered under the GST, in which details of sales, purchases and input tax credit (ITC) benefits accrued to them during 2017-18 fiscal have to be provided in a consolidated manner. The ministry has notified annual return form for normal taxpayers (GSTR-9) and for composition taxpayers (GSTR-9A).

The last date for filing the annual return forms is December 31. With the notification, government has accepted the long pending demand of industry and has notified annual return form for normal taxpayers(GSTR 9) and annual return form for composition taxpayers(GSTR 9A) in which detailed information has to be provided by businesses.

The Goods and Services Tax (GST), which subsumed 17 different indirect taxes, was rolled out on July 1, 2017.

Delhi: Two killed, nine injured after fire breaks out at godown in Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar yesterday evening

In Delhi, two persons were killed and nine injured after a fire broke out at a godown in Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar yesterday evening.

Police said, the three-storeyed godown was used for storing paints, chemicals and CNG kits. Labourers were unloading goods from a tempo when the fire broke out.

Police said the crime and forensics teams were called in and prima facie it appears the fire occurred due to the leakage in one of the CNG kits.

An official from the Delhi Fire Service Department said a call was received around 4:20 PM regarding the fire in the godown. Eleven fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
