Invitation for Expression of interest from software development companies for providing
XBRL software relevant to the Members of ICAI by November 10, 2012

The Committee for Capacity Building of CA Firms and Small & Medium Practitioners
(CCBCAF&SMP) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is meant to
encourage and enhance close links between the Institute and the Chartered Accountants, so as to
provide for them, a base of reference in terms of knowledge, expertise, skills and assistance in
their professional growth, simultaneously pursuing the goal of providing newer opportunities to
the practitioners & CA Firms. One of the major responsibilities of CCBCAF & SMP is to
arrange software relevant for the Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
(ICAI).







The CCBCAF & SMP invites Expression of Interest from the various software vendors who are
interested to provide XBRL software to the Members of ICAI by November 10, 2012. The
intending parties are expected to have appropriate level of practical experience in the relevant
area along with the knowledge of various aspects of the CA profession.


Terms of Reference for the Vendors of the software:
THE SOFTWARE VENDOR must be willing to rebrand its existing software.
Further, THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall not use the logo of its Company on the software
provided to ICAI members and or in any ancillary document related to the software except with
prior approval of ICAI and for limited purposes only.
THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall act as a Development and Support Partner to this
arrangement and shall provide support through help desk.
THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall provide initial license free of cost for first two years
activation from date of MOU to CA members and thereafter, provide the software at nominal
price. Any registered member with ICAI would be eligible to get single copy of initial license
without paying any cost.


THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall provide free of cost licenses of the software during the period
of MOU to all present and future Information Technology Training Centers of ICAI all over
India with two years' activation. THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall also provide free of cost live
patches of the software as and when released during the term of this MOU.


THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall provide free of cost single license of the software with two
years' activation from date of MOU to all present and future offices of ICAI.


THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall also provide free of cost training to all staffs in the Head
Office & other offices of ICAI as well as to provide live patches of the software as and when
released during the period of MOU.







Delivery of Software Products:
a) Delivery of software
THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall make available the Software Setup in the ICAI/Committee
website www.icai.org.in and www.icai.org so that software setup may be downloaded from
website and installed by the ICAI members.
     i)      THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall upload the extensive documentation in soft form
             (PDF & HTML) through web links. These documents shall include Installation
             Manual, Feature List, FAQs, and User Manual etc.
     ii)     THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall provide latest software patches through website
             www.icai.org.in
     iii)    THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall provide access to the updated documentation,
             whenever the new update/release of the current version of the products is published if
             the same is required.


b)         UPLOADING THE SOFTWARE ON COMMITTEE'S WEBSITE:
THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall make available the Software content through the website of
Committee for Capacity Building of CA Firms and Small & Medium Practitioners,
www.icai.org.in and www.icai.org so that software setup can be downloaded and installed easily
by the members, free of cost.


Training to End Users
The software vendor shall provide free of cost Training to all users of the software.


THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall not use the name of the ICAI or any of its associates in any
manner whatsoever for the promotion of its products. THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall not
publicize directly or indirectly in their advertisements in any manner about the MOU or
arrangements with the ICAI except with the prior written approval of ICAI.


THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall not state in any manner that any of its software products are
endorsed, vetted, approved or developed with the inputs of the ICAI.


THE SOFTWARE VENDOR shall use the data coming to its possession for intended purpose
only, in case this data is otherwise used or intended to be so used by THE SOFTWARE
VENDOR, the Company shall be liable for the same.


ICAI hereby retains the right to impose any other or relax the existing terms & conditions for the
arrangement of the software.


The intending Software vendors are required to send a formal request letter with the following
details to Dr. Sambit Kumar Mishra, Secretary, Committee for Capacity Building of CA
Firms and Small & Medium Practitioners (CCBCAF&SMP), The Institute of Chartered
Accountants of India, Post Box No.7100, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi - 110 002. Sending
proposals by email at sambit.mishra@icai.org with a copy to ccbcaf@icai.org is preferred:


   1. Brief profile of the Company
   2. Specific experience and expertise in the XBRL software they offer.
   3. Proposed coverage of the XBRL Software
   4. Details about the XBRL software
   5. Modalities about the XBRL software


It may be noted that mere submission of the Expression of Interest shall not entitle the applicant
Vendor Company to enter into an arrangement with ICAI for its software. ICAI reserves the right
to invite similar proposal from any other Vendor Company though they may not have offered
their expression of interest in this regard. No communications will be entertained from the
applicant Vendor Companies in this regard. Only selected vendors will be individually
communicated. ICAI reserves the right to reject the Expression of Interest received from the
applicant Vendor Companies.
