High Court Chief Justice inspects facilities at city courts complex
November, 28th 2011

Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Madan B Lokur visited the city Civil Courts here on Sunday.

Mr. Justice Lokur inspected the facilities at the courts complex. He captured the photographs of the Civil Courts Complex, the Bezwada Bar Association Hall on the courts complex. He interacted with members of the Bar association. Earlier, he visited Indrakeeladri, the abode of goddess Kanakadurga. The temple priests welcomed him with purna kumbha' amidst Vedic chants.

Earlier, Secondary Education Minister K. Parthasarathy, district Collector S.A.M. Rizvi, Police Commissioner N. Madhusudhan Reddy, Municipal Commissioner G. Ravi Babu and others made a courtesy call. The Minister explained him the agricultural operations in the district, pucca housing for the poor, and implementation of government schemes.

Underscoring the need for refurbishing the courts complex, Mr. Parthasarathy urged him to take steps to demolish the existing buildings and construct them afresh.

Mr. Justice Lokur, addressing the anniversary meeting of the Bar association on Saturday, said people look for immediate redressal of their grievances.

It was the duty of advocates and judges to ensure justice was not delayed to them. The advocates and judges should work in coordination and dispose of cases at the earliest. No Constitution in the world provided so many rights to the people as the Indian Constitution.

Above all, social justice needed to be accorded top priority, he said.

High Court Judge S.V. Ramana said that the judiciary was an instrument to make people follow the right path. Advocates played a key role in the freedom movement. The society required advocates and their knowledge and intelligence.

High Court Judges Eswaraiah and Gopal Reddy, Bar Association president Ch. Ajay Kumar, senior advocate K. Ramamohana Rao and others were present.
