FAQs on E-filing

Problem:

There are still some problems in the latest version I downloaded on 14th Nov.:

(1) In the verification area the Name, Father's name, Place etc. of Directors who signs the hard copy disappear when you reopen the XML file.  So if you are not signing digitally and wants to take printout later, you will have to re-write all these information.

(2) Likewise, The Name of the Bank disappears in Advance Tax (Schedule 19).

(3) Even after downloading the Java Runtime Environment, it is not yet possible to sign on web digitally, perhaps any other Software is needed to sign digitally which is not provided by the Department till yet!!

Solution:

The correct information is stored.  You can import the XML file into PDF file and take the printout.  If you are using drivers of more than one vendor for digitally signing of returns then this problem occurs because the drivers are creating conflict with each other. We are taking up this issue with the vendors.  Use different PC for different driver.

Problem:

We are happy to hear your efforts towards providing technical help for e-filing process. I would like to provide the following details.

1) The excel form and the windows form are not at all matching!! I am trying this for past one month with different versions of excel and e-form. Today also I tried and no luck. The XML generated by these two software have many difference, in the excel it generates non mandatory fields also.

2) And once I correct all the issues (Since I am a IT technical person) and finally getting the message that the PAN is not matching with 11A, we have been using the same PAN for past 3 years.

I am not sure how to solve these issues and I feel that most of the people will have the same problem. It is very clear that the software is NOT AT ALL TESTED PROPERLY. Please try to download the latest versions of the excel and Forms from the incometaxindia site and you will see the issues.

Its a shame for Indians like who claims to be the IT leaders of the world.

Solution:

Kindly use the latest version of the utilities, preferably, the PDF utility.

Problem:

With respect to efilling of form no. 1 of income tax, we are facing problem in case of Government Companies in filling the pan of the share holders where majority of shares are held by Central or State Government. The Electronic form can not be valided without filling the PAN of the share holder.

Kindly suggest us for the above problem.

Solution:

In such cases, the PAN fields of the shareholders can be left empty (Not Zero or any other character). The system will accept it.

Problem:

Please note that we have completely filled Form in Excel sheet form No 1 and after verification of the data we have converted the same in SRF form.  However now this SRF form to be converted into XML form by running the utility, but whenever we run the utility there is no results i.e FVU utility does not validate or convert SRF file into XML file. Please guide us.

Solution:

Please download the latest version of the utilities, preferably PDF and create XML file.
