The premiere education body for the Charted Accountancy in India, Institute of Charted Accountants of India(ICAI) is set to carry changes in its CA course syllabus so that it could become more industry friendly and practical. The committee is working presently on designing the structure of the new syllabus that is to come up soon.
Vice President of ICAI, Mr. Manoj Fadnis has said that the whole syllabus for CA proficiency test to CA final would be scrutinized and changes would be made to make the course more practical in approach with bending the syllabus to meet the requirements of today’s competitive market.
Apart from the proposed change in the syllabus the CA final year students would be given 100 hours of IT training as well, so that they would become capable enough to seek job opportunities even outside India. Those students who would voluntarily agree to become the writers for disabled students would be given computers, so that they can help the candidates by appearing in the examinations.
In an event which saw almost 700 candidates from all over the country getting awarded with their degree of Chartered Accountant course, ICAI president K Raghu said that the students of today would have to contribute to the nation building tomorrow and ICAI is working on the path by training over 8,50,000 students across the country in over 147 branches.
