The office of principal accountant general (audit) held a seminar on `Regulations on Audit & Accounts' on Wednesday.
It was jointly inaugurated by principal AG Arun Kumar and principal secretary, state finance department, Bhanu Pratap Singh.
Several senior officials of the state government like Vijoy Prakash, Deepak Prasad, Ravindra Pawar and Mihir Kumar Singh participated at the seminar. Senior AG officials, including deputy AG Praveen Kumar and deputy AG Smriti, made presentations on regulations.
In accordance with Section 23 of the Comptroller and Audit General's DPC Act, 1971, the C&AG of India had issued the regulations on audit and accounts in 2007.
The main objections of these regulations is to elaborate the duties and reponsibilities of the audit and accounts offices of the Indian audit and accounts department and those of the auditee units and the state government.
It also details the various types of audits under various sections of the Act, auditing standards, production of records of the auditees, issue of audit reports and follow-up action by the department and auditees.
