Apr-Sept direct tax receipts up 3.7 pct - Govt.

India's April-September direct tax receipts were up 3.7 percent from a year earlier at 1.53 trillion rupees, the Central Board of Direct Taxes said on Tuesday. Corporate tax receipts were up 5.55 percent at 1 trillion rupees in the first six months of 2009/10 fiscal year, while individual income tax collections grew 0.4 percent at 519 billion rupees, CBDT said in a statement.
